Beauty in the storm
This dramatic scene is actually a composite of three images. The original image of the foreground of rocks and flowers was taken locally on the Ards Peninsula. The sky a rough sea are additions to the foreground image to create the sense of a dramatic storm. The location is actually fenced off now and an old derelict property on the site has been renovated into a large house.
I have also provided the black and white version as some people prefer black and white.
cHASING MORNING LIGHT
It all begins with an idea.
A perfect sunrise provided an ideal opportunity to photograph one of our local forests. Quite calm with little wind and the low rising sun casting long shadows through the forest. The woodland is actually on the slopes of a steep hill with steep forest paths. I was panting for breath as I made my way up the hill but was presented with a beautiful early autumn scene with the sunlight highlighting the trees and long shadows causing a wonderful ambience. I get a great sense of well-being during and after forest walks, and as you can see from the images the forest is quite beautiful on a sunlit morning.
